When Did Roberto Clemente Get His First Major League Baseball Hit?

Roberto Clemente, a legendary baseball player, made his Major League Baseball (MLB) debut with the Pittsburgh Pirates in 1955. He had to wait until his second game to record his first hit, which came on April 18, 1955, against the Brooklyn Dodgers. It was a single off of pitcher Clem Labine, and it marked the beginning of a Hall of Fame career.

Clemente went on to become one of the greatest hitters in baseball history. He was a 15-time All-Star, 12-time Gold Glove winner, and 4-time batting champion. He also helped the Pirates win the World Series in 1960 and 1971.

Clemente died tragically in a plane crash on New Year's Eve 1972, while delivering aid to earthquake victims in Nicaragua. He was 38 years old. He was posthumously inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1973.
