Who is both a great baseball player and a successful manager?
Joe Torre is a former Major League Baseball player and manager. He is best known for his time with the New York Yankees, where he won four World Series championships as manager. Torre was a seven-time All-Star as a player and was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2014.
Born in Brooklyn, New York, Torre was a four-sport star at Sewanhaka High School. He was drafted by the Milwaukee Braves in 1960 and made his major league debut in 1961.
