How Many Players Are on a Baseball Team's Defensive Lineup at Once?
In baseball, each team takes turns batting and fielding. When a team is fielding, the nine players take positions on the field to defend against the other team's batters. The defensive lineup consists of the following positions:
- Pitcher: The pitcher throws balls to the batter.
- Catcher: The catcher catches the balls thrown by the pitcher.
