How Many World Series Did Luis Tiant Win?
Luis Tiant was a Cuban professional baseball player who pitched in Major League Baseball (MLB) for 19 seasons. He is best known for his time with the Boston Red Sox, for whom he pitched from 1971 to 1978 and again in 1981. He also pitched for the Cleveland Indians, Pittsburgh Pirates, New York Yankees, Minnesota Twins, and California Angels.
Tiant was a four-time All-Star and won 229 games over the course of his career. He led the American League in wins in 1972 and 1973, and in strikeouts in 1974. He also finished in the top 10 in ERA three times. Tiant never won a World Series, but he did pitch in the 1975 World Series for the Red Sox.
Tiant retired from MLB in 1988. He was elected to the Boston Red Sox Hall of Fame in 1997.
