The longest bow and arrow shot ever recorded is 1,189 feet (363 meters), achieved by Joe Gibbs at the Arizona Archery Club in 1986. The longest bow and arrow shot in international competition was made by Stephan Hansen of Denmark at the 2019 World Archery Championships. Hansen shot 1,019 feet (311 meters), using a compound bow with a 30-inch draw length and a 70-pound draw weight, and an arrow with a 2-meter shaft and a 150-grain tip.
