Irina Lapshina is a former Russian badminton player. She was born on 9 October 1993 in Rzhev, Russia. She began playing badminton at the age of 8 and became a member of the Russian junior team in 2009. She was part of the team that won the European Junior Championships in 2011 and 2013.
Lapshina made her senior international debut in 2012 and quickly established herself as one of the top players in the world. She won her first international title at the 2013 Russian Open and went on to win the European Championships in 2014. She also won the bronze medal at the 2015 European Games.
Lapshina's most recent international title came at the 2017 Russian Open. She is currently ranked number 5 in the world and is one of the favorites to win the 2018 European Championships.
