Is it wrong that I (34F) only let my son (9M) wear polo shirts with v-neck sweaters over them?
My son is 9 years old and I only let him wear polo shirts with v-neck sweaters over them. I think it looks really cute and it's also very comfortable for him. I've been doing this since he was a toddler and I've never had any problems with it. There have been times when kids at school make fun of him for it and he’s gotten upset.
However, his father thinks I'm being too strict and that I should let him wear whatever he wants. He says that my son is old enough to make his own decisions about what he wears. I don't know if I agree with him though. I think it's important for kids to dress appropriately and I don't think polo shirts with v-neck sweaters are inappropriate.
I'm not sure what to do. I don't want to be too strict, but I also don't want my son to be made fun of. I also don’t want him to get upset when he sees other children wear what they want. What do you think? Am I wrong for only letting my son wear polo shirts with v-neck sweaters?
