How does scoring in curling work?

Curling is a team sport in which players slide stones across a sheet of ice towards a target area, known as the "house." The goal of the game is to score points by getting your stones closer to the center of the house than your opponents'.

Scoring in curling is based on the number of stones that are closer to the center of the house than any of the opposing team's stones. Each stone that is closer to the center than any opposing stone scores one point. If multiple stones from the same team are closer to the center than any opposing stone, then each of those stones scores a point.

The team with the most points at the end of the game wins. If the game is tied after the regulation number of ends, then an extra end is played to determine the winner.

To score in curling, you need to get your stones closer to the center of the house than any of the opposing team's stones. You can do this by throwing your stones with the correct amount of power and accuracy. You can also use the other stones on the ice to your advantage, by hitting them with your own stones to knock them out of the way or to change their direction.

The house is the target area in curling. It is a circle with a diameter of 12 feet (3.6 meters). The center of the house is marked by a small red dot.

The maximum number of points that you can score in a single end is 8. This can happen if you have all 8 of your stones closer to the center of the house than any of the opposing team's stones.
