How are points calculated in curling?
In curling, points are awarded to the team that has the most stones closest to the center of the target, known as the "button." The scoring system is as follows:
- One point: For each stone that is closer to the button than any of the other team's stones.
- Two points: If the stone is touching the button.
- Three points: If the stone is the only stone in the house (the inner circle around the button).
- Four points: If the stone is the only stone in the house and it is touching the button.
- Five points: If the stone is the only stone in the house and it is the only stone that is touching the button.
The game is played in ends, and the team with the most points at the end of the game wins.
