Cliffhanger is a 1993 American action thriller film directed by Renny Harlin and starring Sylvester Stallone, John Lithgow, Michael Rooker, Janine Turner, Rex Linn, and Michelle Joyner. The screenplay was written by Michael France and Joe Ezsterhas, from a story by John Long.
The film follows Gabe Walker, a former mountain climber who is now a park ranger in the Rocky Mountains. When a group of criminals hijacks a plane carrying $100 million in ransom money, the plane crashes into the mountains and Gabe is tasked with retrieving the money.
Gabe soon discovers that the criminals are led by Eric Qualen, a ruthless mercenary who is willing to kill anyone who gets in his way. Gabe must use all of his skills and experience to survive and stop Qualen from getting away with the money.
