How does someone qualify for the CrossFit Games?
To qualify for the CrossFit Games, individuals must first compete in the CrossFit Open, an online competition that takes place over five weeks. The top 20 athletes from each region (North America, Europe, Asia, Oceania, South America, and Africa) then advance to the CrossFit Regionals, where they compete for a spot in the CrossFit Games. The top five athletes from each region, as well as the top 20 athletes from the Open, then qualify for the CrossFit Games.
In addition to the Open and Regionals, there are also several other ways to qualify for the CrossFit Games. These include:
- The CrossFit Games Last Chance Qualifier: This event is held in July and gives athletes who did not qualify through the Open or Regionals a chance to earn a spot in the CrossFit Games.
- The CrossFit Games Team Competition: Teams of four athletes compete in this event, and the winning team earns a spot in the CrossFit Games.
- The CrossFit Games Adaptive Division: This event is for athletes with disabilities, and the top athletes in each division earn a spot in the CrossFit Games.
