Who is Jang Young Nam?

Jang Young Nam is a South Korean former professional badminton player. She is a two-time Olympic bronze medalist, having won a bronze medal in both the women's singles and mixed doubles at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Jang also won a bronze medal in the women's singles at the 2012 London Olympics.

Jang was born in Seoul, South Korea, on November 10, 1989. She began playing badminton at the age of 10. In 2006, she won the bronze medal in the women's singles at the Asian Junior Championships.

Jang made her international debut for South Korea at the 2007 BWF World Championships. She reached the quarterfinals of the women's singles, where she lost to Zhang Ning of China.

In 2008, Jang won her first Olympic medal, a bronze medal in the women's singles at the Beijing Olympics. She also won a bronze medal in the mixed doubles, partnering with Lee Yong Dae.

Jang continued to compete at the highest level for several more years. She won the bronze medal in the women's singles at the 2012 London Olympics. She also won a gold medal in the mixed doubles at the 2014 Asian Games.

Jang retired from professional badminton in 2018. She is now a coach for the South Korean national badminton team.
