Can You Swim in Any of the Hot Springs at Yellowstone?

Yellowstone National Park is home to over 10,000 thermal features, including hot springs, geysers, and mud pots. While many of these features are beautiful to look at, only a few are safe for swimming.

The only hot spring in Yellowstone that is open to swimming is the Boiling River. It is located in the northern part of the park, near Mammoth Hot Springs. The Boiling River is a natural hot spring that flows into the Gardner River. The water temperature in the Boiling River ranges from 100 to 120 degrees Fahrenheit.

To swim in the Boiling River, you must enter the water from the Gardner River. There is a boardwalk that leads to a small pool where you can swim. Be careful when swimming in the Boiling River, as the water can be hot and the current can be strong.

It is not safe to swim in any of the other hot springs in Yellowstone. The water in these hot springs is often too hot or acidic for swimming. Additionally, many of the hot springs are located in areas that are closed to the public.
