Larry Johnson, known as "Grandmama", was an American professional basketball player who played in the NBA from 1991 to 2001. He was a four-time NBA All-Star, a two-time All-NBA Second Team selection, and an Olympic gold medalist.

Johnson was drafted first overall by the Charlotte Hornets in the 1991 NBA draft. He quickly became one of the most dominant players in the league, averaging 22.1 points and 11.2 rebounds per game in his rookie season. Johnson helped lead the Hornets to the playoffs in each of his first four seasons, and in 1993, he led them to the Eastern Conference Finals.

In 1996, Johnson was traded to the New York Knicks. He continued to play well for the Knicks, averaging 19.4 points and 9.4 rebounds per game in his first season with the team. However, injuries began to take their toll on Johnson in the latter part of his career, and he retired in 2001.
