Where Will the Olympics Be Held in 2032?
The 2032 Summer Olympics, officially known as the Games of the XXXV Olympiad, will be held in Brisbane, Australia. The city was elected as the host at the 138th IOC Session in Lima, Peru, on July 21, 2021. Brisbane defeated the other candidate cities, including Madrid, Spain; Bogota, Colombia; and Doha, Qatar.
Brisbane's bid for the Games was based on a vision of "Creating a Healthy, Happy, and Sustainable Future." The city plans to use the Olympics as a catalyst for urban renewal and economic development. The Games will be held in a number of venues across Brisbane, including the Gabba Stadium, Suncorp Stadium, and the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre.
The 2032 Olympics will be the third time that Australia has hosted the Games. Melbourne hosted the 1956 Summer Olympics, and Sydney hosted the 2000 Summer Olympics.
