I am being entertained by a squirrel. Why is it hiding green unopened pine cones in my yard?
I have been watching a squirrel for the past hour as it buries green unopened pine cones in my yard. I am not sure why it is doing this, but I am finding it quite entertaining.
The squirrel has been very busy. It has already buried about 20 pine cones in various locations around my yard. It seems to be very careful about where it buries the cones, as it takes its time to dig a small hole before placing the cone inside.
I am not sure what the squirrel is planning to do with the pine cones, but I am sure that it has a good reason for burying them. Perhaps it is storing them for food for the winter, or maybe it is using them to build a nest. Whatever the reason, I am enjoying watching the squirrel go about its business.
