What are the rules of fencing

Fencing is a sport that involves two people fighting with swords. The objective of the game is to score points by hitting your opponent with the tip of your sword. There are three different types of fencing: foil, épée, and sabre. Each type of fencing has its own set of rules.

Foil fencing is the most popular type of fencing. In foil fencing, the target area is the torso. The only valid target is the opponent's torso. Hits to the arms, legs, or head do not count.

Épée fencing is similar to foil fencing, but the target area is the entire body. In épée fencing, any hit to the opponent's body counts.

Sabre fencing is the most different of the three types of fencing. In sabre fencing, the target area is the torso and the head. Hits to the arms do not count.
