Illegal actions in boxing include:

  • Clinching. Clinching is when a fighter holds onto his opponent to prevent him from punching.
  • Biting. Fighters are not allowed to bite each other.
  • Spitting. Fighters are not allowed to spit at each other.
  • Using foul language. Fighters are not allowed to use foul language during a fight.
  • Tripping. Fighters are not allowed to trip each other.

Fighters who violate these rules may be penalized by the referee. Penalties can include a warning, a point deduction, or a disqualification.
