How do the NFL Playoffs work?

The NFL Playoffs is a single-elimination tournament contested by the top 14 teams in the league, seven from each conference. The playoffs begin with Wild Card Weekend, in which the top two teams in each division receive a bye, while the remaining four teams play for the right to advance to the Divisional Round.

In the Divisional Round, the top two seeds in each conference host the two Wild Card winners. The winners of those games advance to the Conference Championship Games, where the top seed in each conference hosts the winner of the other Divisional Round game.

The winners of the Conference Championship Games advance to the Super Bowl, which is held at a neutral site. The Super Bowl is the championship game of the NFL season and is one of the most watched sporting events in the world.
