Why does God use prophets to speak for instead of speaking for oneself?
God is the creator of the universe and everything in it. He is all-powerful, all-knowing, and all-present. He does not need to use anyone to speak for him.
But God has chosen to use prophets to speak for him for several reasons.
- Prophets are human beings. They can relate to us in a way that God cannot. They can understand our needs and our fears. They can speak to us in a language that we can understand.
- Prophets are chosen by God. They are not self-appointed. They are called by God to speak his word.
- Prophets are given a special gift. They are able to hear from God and to speak his word with authority.
- Prophets are sent to us for a purpose. They are sent to warn us of sin, to call us to repentance, and to point us to the way of salvation.
God could speak for himself, but he chooses to use prophets because he wants to reach us in a way that we can understand. He wants us to know his word, and he wants us to be saved.
