Who is the Best NHL Player to Ever Play for Both the Philadelphia Flyers and the St. Louis Blues?
Over the course of NHL history, there have been some truly iconic players to have played for both the Philadelphia Flyers and the St. Louis Blues. However, there is one player who stands out above the rest as the best to ever wear the jerseys of both teams: Bernie Federko.
Federko was drafted by the Blues in the first round (11th overall) of the 1976 NHL Entry Draft. He played his first six seasons in St. Louis, quickly becoming one of the most popular players in franchise history. In 1980, he was traded to the Flyers, where he would spend the next nine seasons.
During his time in Philadelphia, Federko continued to produce at a high level. He was a four-time All-Star and helped the Flyers reach the Stanley Cup Finals in 1985 and 1987. In 1985, he was awarded the Conn Smythe Trophy as the MVP of the playoffs.
Federko retired in 1990 after 13 seasons in the NHL. He finished his career with 1,130 points (480 goals, 650 assists) in 961 games. He was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2002.
