Could they just use super fat people as goalies in hockey?

The biggest goalie in the NHL is Bobrovsky, who is 6'3" and 229 pounds. The heaviest goalie in the NHL is David Ayres, who is 6'4" and 285 pounds.

So, let's say we take a guy who is 6'5" and 400 pounds. That's a lot of mass to cover the net. But would it be enough?

The answer is no. Not even close.

The average NHL shot is around 90 mph. That's over 100 miles per hour! And the puck can travel even faster if it's deflected off of a player's stick.

At that speed, even a 400-pound goalie would have a hard time stopping the puck. The puck would hit him with such force that it would knock him back into the net.

So, while it might be funny to think about, using super fat people as goalies in hockey is not a viable solution.
